Fun with waves

The properties of waves are sometimes hard to see when doing real-life demos, so by video recording a wave machine it can be played back, or paused, and viewed repeatedly and at leisure. It also allows us to simultaneously show events that otherwise would have to be shown sequentially. The ubiquity of recording devices and editing software makes this possible:

With the video file, students can also analyze the wave motion by tracking it frame by frame, or using video analysis software like Tracker.
